Michael Moore Speaks to Union Supporters in Madison

Thousands of people rallied in Madison again Saturday, where demonstrators
are nearing the third straight week of protests against Governor Walker’s budget
repair bill. That bill would require public employees to pay more toward health
insurance and pensions, and eliminate most collective bargaining rights.

Protesters who returned to Madison Saturday received support from filmmaker
Michael Moore. The crowd roared as Moore implored them to keep up their struggle,
comparing their fight to Egypt’s revolt. “Right now, right now the earth is shaking and
the ground is shifting under the feet of those who are in charge. your message, your
message has inspired people in all 50 states. And that message is: we have had it,” he says.

Police say nearly 4,000 people had entered the Capitol for demonstrations on the
ground floor rotunda Saturday. They say the crowd is being cooperative
